I registered my blog. Perhaps it’s time. My knowledge and thoughts are tired of languishing inside the dimensionless repository – my brain. They felt cramped. Life also requires change. The old dogmas: modesty and perfectionism, mixed in a strong cocktail of my beliefs, simply poured out. And the free mind rushed towards the spotlight and recognition, internally tasting the sweet taste of new sensations. “The hour has come!” “Never give up!” – screamed the inner “I”. How tired it is of delving into old and new analyzes of errors and blunders. My “I” got fed up and declared a protest against self-digging and doubts.
Waking up one sunny summer morning, physically and mentally, my head, under the control of the strictest boss – the Brain, simply forced my ass to sit at the computer and ordered me to start!
My blog is a collection of old and new thoughts about my favorite research into the human body. From the mind-stirring ideals of antiquity to modern fashion photographs – masterpieces of the most famous photographers. How often the ideals of beauty of the human body have changed! How nice it is to know that humanity realizes that any body is beautiful. New terms: “Body positive” “Disability fashion body”, “A-gender body”. And all these concepts are combined into one thing – BODY. It (the body) is not chosen, but it is changed at will. It can be trained, exhausted with diets, and subjected to surgery. Or… just create an online version that your own brain has defined as an ideal or the ultimate dream….
And historical facts are simply confirmation of one’s own beliefs that at all times people have “beautified” and idealized bodies. A MAN HAS NEVER BEEN SATISFIED WITH HIS OWN REAL BODY. With the advent of art, this dissatisfaction became even more noticeable. Art always demonstrates perfection. And only the new realities, which stopped the world for almost 2 years and plunged it into a new online format of life, finally changed the beliefs about the eternal race for the invented beauty of the body. After all, all thoughts about perfection are simply an illusion that each brain creates in accordance with acquired knowledge and views on beauty. Who came up with the ideals of beauty? Why did Polykleitos, in his treatise 2500 thousand years ago, assert that the ideal body should fit into a circle and a square? How is it possible in reality to shorten the arms and lengthen the legs so that the body fits into a circle and a square? Who decided that the body and soul have different criteria of beauty?
We are what WE think. But at the same time, we cannot think like everyone else. We are different and our thoughts are different. Our thoughts determine the criteria for the beauty of our soul. What about the body? – The body is not always as beautiful as the thought of it. Because we think by imposed criteria of beauty. At first, humanity relied on the ideals of masterpieces of art, and then fashion began to dictate its own ideals. Therefore, even in our own thoughts, our bodies are always far from the ideals of beauty. Is it really that important?
I have been wanting to understand all this for the last 5 years. Since I started studying the beauty of the human body. And everything that I learned and came up with during this period, I will post on this blog. Perhaps I will find accomplices who are also deeply immersed in an internal debate about what a beautiful body is. And why does humanity strive for invented ideals?
